My third day over at Levington Marina and after a run of poor sessions I was due a good one and the River Orwell delivered today:) I had a physiotherapy ppointment at 2.20 so I headed over early arriving at the marina at 9.30 with Mag coming down on the bus and walking for 12.30:) It was alovely day with wall to wall sunshine and a good breeze, probably wsw at this point so after setiing up my foil board I rigged 6.5 which proved OK for the best part of the session:) I was on the water at 10 and sailed for the best part of two and half hours landing just before Mag arrived, spot-on in time! I started off doing short runs across the corner with the wind patchy, then it swing westerly and was more constant and I had some lovely runs down to Felixstowe docks, gybing right in front of a huge container ship:) It was fantastic whizzing up and down from Levington to the docks in bright sunshine, just me, a few yachts, some geese and a couple of small boats anchored near the docks fishing for bass. I got a nice mile of over 18 knots with an OK average so a nice session, getting knackered it was time to head back. Had a nice chat with Mag on the bench before showering and returning to the van for lunch, we even had a phone call from our son. Then as the breeze increased I packed up and headed back to Felixstowe to hopefully get my knee sorted!
